Last night was the monthly meeting of the Santa Barbara Event Professionals, www.sbep.com. The group is made up of Caterers, florist, event rental companies, photographers, and some of the most interesting people in the business.
I was fortunate to have been invited by Diana Andonian who is an event coordinator and invitation specialist. The event included wines from local vineyards and appetizers prepared by Philippe Sautot from Events by Philippe. The food was excellent and had an opportunity to exchange cards with a few people during our conversations.
I also met Steve Sowin who does Classic Motoring Car Rentals who has approximately 20 old classics that he rents for weddings and events. Everyone knows how much I love old cars so that was a great conversation.
I had a great night and will probably become a member since it seems that I am the only bartender in the group. Networking is the best way to make things happen in this business. It is all about who you know!
